This would be the first time i have seen an opportunity to comment positively for the use of plastic bags at supermarket checkouts.

I live in a very small unit, and use a special bracket on the inside of my cupboard doors, which is designed to use the relevant plastic bags, and comes fitted with a lid, to reduce odours, and allow me to store rubbish prior to the Garbage Bin, for up to 5 to 6 days.

If plastic bags were barred from Supermarkets, i would then have an additional expense on my Age Pension, as well as a search to be able to find the bags.

If these bags were to be banned, how many Pensioners would be in the same position???

To be honest, I'm not surprised about these results. While there is a big effort to place green bags by the check outs, I constantly see people buying another one of these bags every time they go shopping. They rarely bring them back out with them. Society needs to start practicing the environmentally friendly features that are offered to them otherwise nothing is going to change.
